The Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA) would like to officially invite you as AFA Member country to attend the 14th Africa Armwrestling and 7th Para-Armwrestling Championships, which will be held in Nigeria – Abuja, from July 23RD-27TH, 2025.

Complete championships (preliminaries, semi-finals and finals) will be live streamed on the Olympic Channel platform and AFA YouTube Channel.

2025 Africa Armwrestling and Para-Armwrestling Championships will be hosted by the Nigeria Armwrestling Federation represented by Samuel Jackson as the President.

The Federation is prepared to receive more than 300 competitors, officials and supporters from over 22 participating countries.

Teams are expected to arrange visa formalities (if needed), airports transfers, transport,accommodation, and other services with the Host local organizing committee (LOC).

Championships registration online and other matters will be arranged with the AFA.

2.1 Arrival by PLANE

Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport IATA: ABV, ICAO: DNAA) is an international airport serving Abuja, in the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. It is the main airport serving the Nigerian capital city and was named after Nigeria’s first President, Nnamdi Azikiwe (1904–1996). The airport is approximately 20 km (12 mi)southwest of the city centre, and has an international and a domestic terminal that share its single runway.

Airport Transport service will be available from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 20 € / person / round trip.

Welcome Service will be provided upon arrival at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Airports according with the arrival/departure bookings.

The teams will be met by their welcome desk team and volunteers with welcome board containing logo of the championships.

Operating hours are from Monday 23th July to Monday 30th July from 7:00 to 22:00

After collecting luggage, team members will be escorted to the official buses by the welcome desk staff and taken to the official hotels.

The transfer time from the airport to the official hotels is approximately 15 minutes from Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Returning transfers must be re-confirmed 1 day before departure.

Transfers from the airport to the official hotels and return are available only by booking at the price of 20 € per person round-trip.

There are direct buses from all major cities in west Africa to Lagos. Check connections with your local transport companies or contact host for more details.

Teams( Athletes, Officials) come by road must be in Lagos no than 7:00 a.m. on 22/07/2025, specifies the Nigerian Olympic committee  Building, National Stadium Complex Surulere Lagos.

The main hotel is walking distance to the venue and will host all meetings for the 23th and 27th of , the other official hotels are or nearby, walking distance or by public transport (free of charge).

The hotels will officially open with full services on 20th of July 2025. If members of your federation are planning to arrive earlier, please contact the host in advance to make sure specific arrangements are made.

All national teams must accommodate only in the official hotels appointed by the host and reservations will be made only with the host federation, otherwise the competitors will not have the right to compete in the championships (AFA and WAF Approved Rule).

The Organizing Committee will provide the hotel that best meets team`s needs. Reservations will be subject to availability and the payments received and will dispatch rooms according to the number of participants of each team and the needs of accessibility.

Free accommodation and airport transfers offered by the Host to the AFA Officials ( AFA President ; General secretary and Head Referee) must be confirmed latest 10th of July 2025, If no arrangements haven been made, after this date the Host will not be responsible for the accommodation or airport transfers.
